Although we are here to help you manage your career we cannot do it alone. You must help yourself by following our directions to maximize your chances of being successful. You must have patience and realize success comes at different times for different people and no two people are exactly alike. Success also comes in different forms… exposure, money, and getting signed.
One of the reasons we created this site is so we have a larger database of people to choose from when there is an opening. If you fit, the client approves, and you do a great job, there is a good chance we would want to sign you. By signing you we believe you have the ability to compete for jobs. We will prepare you for the competition but nothing replaces experience. Many models and actors fail because they think this is going to be easy but it’s not, and just like everything else, you have to work hard at it to be successful.
Once you sign with us and we agree to represent you, you have the responsibility to make our casting requests a priority. If you are not going to be available for castings you must email your talent manager and bookers that you are “booking out.” This will prevent you, us and the client from being put in a bad situation.

Most castings and clients want to see a picture or pictures immediately. Our website might look just like another “networking site” on the outside, but it is what’s behind the scenes that make a difference. DamnModel was created in the same fashion as Elite and Wilhelmina. Through our website we have the ability to email your information to a casting director or client within seconds, and you can do the same thing also! You also have a digital comp card page that is much more professional than a link to a profile. Our system is very fast, reliable, powerful and can sort by millions of combinations in minutes allowing us to meet the demands of the casting directors and clients. It is important that you do your part by filling out and maintaining your profile. You must keep it updated and you must enter all your skills to maximize your chances of getting work. You will also be able to send digital comp cards via email, and also have a digital comp card page, which is a lot more profesional than a networking profile.
ROLES OF DAMNMODEL STAFF
Talent Managers
Talent managers find the talent, evaluate the talent and do the initial grooming of the talent. They are responsible for helping you decide if you really want to model and they decide if you display the necessary commitment necessary to have a chance to compete for jobs. They explain to you how the industry works and help you get the necessary materials that are required and expected in this industry. Your relationship with your talent manager is a key part of your experience with DamnModel. It is YOUR responsibility to keep in touch with your Talent Manager and it is YOUR responsibility to keep your Talent Manager informed of important events that are related to your desire to model. Talent Managers are very busy, looking for new talent and grooming talent they have agreed to take on. Be patient when waiting for a response to a question and always treat your talent manager with respect and courtesy.
Bookers
To be a successful booker you need an aggressive forceful personality. A booker must match job needs with available models very quickly. Bookers normally are dealing with many jobs at one time and hundreds of different personalities. They do not have time to chit chat or extend a conversation. At times they may seem annoyed and abrupt. Do not take it personally it is part of the business and you just need to be understanding. There are a million reasons for our bookers to be stressed, they operate in an area of responsibility, performance and accountability but they have little control over booking conditions and circumstances, Just remember they only make money when you do, so their goal is to get you work. Your job is to help them make you successful. When you are called for a casting confirm as quickly as possible. If your phone number changes notify them immediately. Most importantly be professional, go to all your castings and be on time. Always keep in the back of your mind that the bookers are very busy, all day, every day trying to get you work. When they do, reward them by being available and showing up for the job. Professional and reliable models have the chance of being very successful. Unprofessional and unreliable models have no chance and will be dropped by DamnModel.
EXPERIENCE
Usually models with experience have a better chance of winning the job unless the client is looking for a new fresh face. Winning the job is not just about how you look but also about how you take direction, move and act. Most of all, personality and professionalism are very important and are, most often, the deciding factors. If you want to be a model you must continue to shoot as often as you can. 1 or 2 photoshoots will not make you an experienced model; it may get you initial pictures to start your career but it is only the beginning of your development. Modeling is a craft and you must continue to practice walking and shooting to perfect it. The more you shoot with good photographers the better you will get. This is another reason we created DamnModel.com, so that you and the photographers can both improve. Models, that have been with us for over a year and who continue to shoot, show drastic improvement and build a strong portfolio which evidences their ability to be photographed in different settings and looks. Some models may even develop 2 or more comp cards, each aimed at a particular venue of modeling.
GENERAL RULES
“3 Strikes You’re Out” Policy
If you do not book out we expect you to be reasonably available for castings. Our bookers will call you when we have a request for you. They will expect you to put aside everything to attend the casting. There is nothing more frustrating than having a client request a talent and then finding out he or she cannot or will not attend the casting. When a client cannot get the person they have requested they will look elsewhere, both you and DamnModel will lose the opportunity to get the job and establish a relationship with the client. If you do not go, or fail to show up to a casting 3 times in 1 year, we will have the option of dropping you as one of our models. We do understand that there are always special circumstances that prevent attending a casting and we will take that into consideration on whether or not to continue representing you.
Punctuality
You must be on time, that means you MUST be 15 minutes early for your appointments. No exceptions. Castings can unexpectedly end if the casting director finds who they need. Most castings will be held to the end but you do not want to be the last person. You may have to wait at castings, bring reading material to pass the time.
Be Prepared
When you go on a casting take comp cards and your portfolio. If we did not make your comp cards make sure you have DamnModel stickers. If your comp card is not ready yet ask the booker what you should leave behind. Always make sure we have at least 50 comp cards to send out at all times.
If you get booked on a job you must take a DamnModel voucher with you to the job. Make sure an authorized person on the set fills it out, and you have to mail, email, fax, or drop off the top copy (white sheet) of the voucher at DamnModel as soon as possible for timely billing. This is how we bill for your services and it serves as a record of work performed.
Grooming
You are considered to be a professional model. You must go to the castings well groomed. Not only will this help your chances of getting the job but it will reflect your professionalism.
Never change your hair color or cut without our approval. Never let a client cut or color your hair unless you get our approval. A drastic hair change can severely reduce our ability to get you work.
If you color your hair, always make sure you keep it up, roots should not be showing.
Skin should be kept clean, look healthy and not over tanned.
Teeth must be white.
Females should have nails manicured and pedicured natural color, with no tips or drastic designs.
Females should bring or wear high heal shoes (at least 3 inches) to ALL Castings, and have a bikini with them at all times, wear plain fitted jeans and a simple T-shirt with hair pulled back and very little or no makeup.
Males should be dressed casual in form fitting clothes, hair and face should be groomed.
Acne
Acne is a part of life and needs to be controlled as best as possible. If it persists see a dermatologist. If you are having a bad acne day we can elect not to send you to the client for fear that the client may not request you again. This is a judgment call on our part and we will try to be as fair and practical as possible.
Weight and Body Shape
You are the product; you must keep in shape and be toned. Even small weight fluctuations can be exacerbated by the camera lens. You never know when your break will come so you must always be ready. Ripped is not essential or even desired in some cases but toned is required in all cases.
Your Stats.
You are a model, your height, weight, and measurements must be accurate at all times. You must tell your talent manager and/or bookers when they change.
